What AI does here
On each match page, the "AI Analysis & Breakdown" section is written by a large language model. It is given only the numbers shown on that page (the chances, expected goals, recent form, league table position, head to head, prices and the pick, if published) and asked to explain them in plain English.
What AI does not do
- It does not choose the pick. Picks come from our statistical models and bookmakers' prices, and are fixed before kick-off.
- It does not set chances, prices or the order of anything on the site.
- It is not given, and cannot invent, team news, injuries or line-ups.
How every AI text is checked
Before anything is published, automatic checks reject the text if it:
- contains any number, written as a figure or a word, that is not in the data it was given;
- calls a bet safe, sure, guaranteed or similar, or tells the reader to bet;
- uses questions, exclamations or stock phrasing;
- does not name both teams, or is too long or too short.
If no model's text passes, the page shows a plain summary written by fixed rules from the same data instead.
How it is labelled
Text written by AI is headed AI Analysis & Breakdown and carries a note saying so. Text written by our fixed rules is headed Analysis & breakdown, without "AI".
Which models we use
We use freely available models from established providers, currently including Google's Gemini models and Mistral's models, and we change models as quality and availability change. The data sent to them is the match data shown on the page; no personal information about visitors is ever sent.
Limits
Checks catch wrong numbers, not every awkward phrase or every misjudged emphasis. Treat the analysis as a readable summary of the numbers, not as advice. See our disclaimer.
Reporting a mistake
If you spot an error in any analysis, tell us at [email protected] with the match page link, and we will correct it.
